Happy Belated New Year!

Its been a while since I've blogged and 2012 was a tough year (not that I was very good at blogging anyway!).

But its a new year and hopefully I'll be turning over a new leaf in which I'll devote more time to the fun things in life.

Its only 16 days into 2013 but its been jam packed so far. New year's eve was spent with my husband's family. I made a Black Forrest cake to celebrate and we had fun in the garden with sparklers at midnight. I thought we were freestyling on the second photo so my 1 became a heart instead!

Then just after new year it was my birthday. I'd seen a fantastic cake on Pinterest from Raspberri cupcakes blog and decided that this was going to be my birthday cake, you can find it here if you would like to make one too: strawberry donut cake.

Last year on my 30th birthday I decided to try and recreate one of my favourite childhood photos and took inspiration from this once again this year. It was lots of fun and so I  might try to make this a tradition and each year try to create a new version of the photograph.

After the fun of New Year and my birthday I went back to work which left little time for fun. However, I have enjoyed  relaxing in the evenings by playing records on the record player that was my birthday present. I'm looking forward to a trip to my parents so that I can raid my Dad's record collection and "borrow" a few.

Finally just to end this week, I had a discussion in work about French fancies and how I thought they should have a moustache. Cue going home to find the edible marker pen and make my dreams come true!

Happy 2013! x
