Lazy Saturdays in Liverpool
I was supposed to head home to Wales this weekend but ended up postponing the trip because of the horrible weather.
So instead I went to Liverpool city centre with the sole purpose of buying a new washing machine (my not so old one has gone to silicon heaven).
I did go to look at washing machines in John Lewis but also ended up having a sneaky look in the haberdashery department. This fabric is on my to buy list, either to make a dirndle skirt or a dress for the summer. Its Rowan Acacia Racoon and it's £19.95 a metre
After a brief trip to John Lewis we headed over to my favourite part of Liverpool , the Baltic Triangle, for coffee and cake.
Last weekend I did the same thing and went to the Baltic Bakehouse for coffee and a salted caramel and chocolate tart. Yum.
Today I went to unit 51 for coffee and a cheesecake brownie, also scrummy but minus the really cute milk bottle!
Unit 51 has a lovely dreamy atmosphere, so much so that I could have quite happily had a little snooze on the comfy sofa.
Even better, at both Unit 51 and the Baltic Bakehouse you can use the Independent Liverpool card to get discount or extra treats.
As we headed back to the car I spotted Alison Appleton and popped in for a look. The studio was filled with very pretty tea accessories and some coffee ones too, also a very cute pup called Daisy. Alison was lovely and it was nice to talk to her about her company, her inspiration, upcoming plans for jasmine tea cocktails at Liverpool's light night in May and about starting up your own creative business.
I had spotted some pretty mugs from the window and as it was Valentines Day yesterday they seemed very appropriate and they came home with me!
The plan for today is to go to Chester with the camera and make the most of the bright sunny day, try to get a bit of crafting done and then maybe, just maybe tidy up afterwards! Of course I shall be enjoying a brew in my new mug too.
Hope you've had a nice weekend! X
