I love this time of year, there are lambs in the fields, spring flowers and the darkness of the winter has lifted.
Its also a time of chocolates and treats!!!
I've been working on some new brooches including one for all those who love the Great British Bake Off and felt that it would only be right to have some cake to photograph it with.
I'd pinned an image for cream egg cupcakes and the link took me to the taming twins blog. Here Sarah gives her top five tips for Cadbury Creme egg cupcakes and she's not wrong! I followed all of her tips and the recipe and the cupcakes were delicious. The only step I missed was drizzling chocolate over the top as I was fed up of washing up by that point.
Here's a picture of one of my finished cupcakes. I love taking pictures of cupcakes on the teeny cake stand I bought in Marks and Spencer!
I got a little bit carried away with cupcake photos, as its nearly Easter my annual obsession with chenille chicks has reared its head!
Finally I got round to taking a picture of the brooch with the cake! The brooch is made using grosgrain ribbon and a traditional ribbon folding technique. You can get the brooch over on Etsy.
I also bagged up some mini Easter treats and made little bow pom pom thingys with some new bakers twine, unlike chenille chicks my obsession with bakers twine lasts all year!
